Dave Thomas
Dave is currently the President of Unifor Local 707. He has knowledge and experience in risk management, human resources, collective bargaining, and financial audits, budgeting, and inventory.
Dave has a strong work ethic and excellent communication and organizational skills. He has undertaken courses relating to harassment in the workplace, as well as an education program through the C.A.W. Canada (now Unifor).
He is currently employed at Ford Motor Company and over the years has acted as plant representative, steward, committee member, and trustee. He is an active member of the Georgetown community and volunteers coaching hockey and lacrosse in Halton Hills.
Nadia Anton-Collins
Nadia has been the Secretary Treasurer of Unifor Local 707 since 1999 and has worked for Ford Motor Company of Canada since 1984. She is a licensed Paralegal and her community involvement includes being a United Way canvasser, involvement in the injured worker’s community, the Secretary Treasurer of Oakville District Labour Council and much more. Nadia has lots of customer service experience and a strong work ethic.
Shaun Power
Shaun is a CPA and has been practicing as a Tax Partner with the Burlington BDO Canada LLP office for the past 6 years. Prior to joining BDO Shaun was a tax partner with Deloitte. He works closely with family owned businesses to provide tax planning in the areas of corporate reorganizations, estate planning and trusts. Shaun has lectured for both the Canadian and Ontario Institutes of Chartered Accountants, showing commitment to the education of other CPAs. He also prepares and presents tax related topics to his peers clients and has been a speaker at the Ontario Tax Conference. Shaun has also written articles for a variety of business media, including the Canadian Tax Foundation.
He is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the Joseph Brant Hospital Foundation and has been since 2013. He was Chair of the Audit and Finance Committee for several of those years.
Gail Luyben-Powers
Gail served on the Peel-Mississauga Labour Council from 2001-2004 and also from 2011-2013. She has a background in negotiating and the resolution process and has an enthusiastic approach to developing knowledge, skills, and practical experience.
She had been trained as a Registered Nurse at Sheridan School of Nursing 1977/1979 just after high school. She was also trained at Toronto University 1991 as an Audio Metric Technician. She is currently self-employed on a part-time basis as a Life Insurance and Mutual Fund agent. She is also a breast cancer survivor.
